Our History
The School Highcast International Academy is the childhood dream and the unique vision of the visionary, Mr. John Austin. The dream was conceived in his JSS two(2) in the year 1988: He got the inspiration from the secondary school he attended and resolved within him to own a school. The inspiration was also backed up by the philosophy of the comprehensive schools system through the operation of The College of Art and Science (CAS) system.
Hence the vision was developed to include the operation of the comprehensive school system which houses the art and science and technology departments as the predominant departments and points of focus of the institution. Therefore the name HIGHER COLLEGE OF ARTS SCIENCE AND TECHNOLOGY which for sake of clarity and simplicity is made short as HIGHCAST.
The dream finally came true as the school was founded on the 17th day of September, 2007. The driving force of the visionary for establishing a school is the love and quest for quality education, hard work and hatred for poor standard of education, examination malpractice and indolence. It was these observable traits that poised the curiosity of the visionary towards establishing a school. Again, the Vow which he made in 1988 was a source of power and inspiration. He vowed in 1988 and said; NO MATTER WHAT I’M DOING IN THIS WORLD; I MUST OWN A SCHOOL ; This particular vow kept hunting him till it finally came to pass in September 2007.
The cardinal vision of the school is to discover the hidden talents that are embedded in children, help them pursue these hidden talents, and achieve them in the near future through the use of pedagogical skills and the educational process. It is the belief of the visionary that sound and qualitative education is the bedrock for socio-economic development and the prosperity of every nation.
